Amy's Housewarming Party

I threw a Housewarming Party for one of my closest friends, Amy! She recently moved into her first home. Our original party was actually postponed due to snow. The rescheduled date turned out to be a very nice day! I'm so happy for Amy and her new "home" adventure. Her house is so cute and of course well decorated!
Here are a few images from her party! There was a lot of food and I couldn't help but to document it all :)

There's no party without a picture of the girls!

Carol & my mom helped me out a lot with the party and that help was greatly appreciated! I honestly couldn't have done it without them. There were a few other great helpers that day too! Thank you to everyone who teamed up to prepare food or clean up! Here's a pic of the mom's with Amy, Kay & Amy, and me & Amy!

Kay showed up a little later so she didn't make it to the group shot, but I'm just glad she was able to make it! It was a floating party :)

Plus, some of the girls missed out on this!

Lastly, here is a cute picture of Amy in front of her house!

I'll leave you with what you can look forward to with Twenty Two Photo!

The combo on life...

I haven't had much motivation to write blogs lately. I usually will just post pictures here and there on facebook. Here is a basic summary (not in any type of order) to fill in my life in the last couple of months (give or take some moments, which I still may share):

1. Visit with my friend Kerri in King, NC. We went to Pilot Mountain and took a little walk for a bit. We also did a few other things that aren't pictured like the antique store, mall, cookout, watched a movie, and just hung out :)

We also enjoyed this HUGE pizza together!

If I'm not mistaken this was a flour mill. It's this really cool building with shops now. They also have local artist that work here!

2. When Chris & I went to Asheville he was inspired by all of the walking sticks, so he decided to make his own! Now he has a little piece of Chapel Hill to take with him on our next life adventure! I am very proud of him for his hard work that he put into this! It's pretty awesome!

3. Karen Wiggs married this kid name Garrett. I still don't really know him, but if the Wiggs family likes him he must be a good kid :) I didn't take many pictures, b/c I usually just let the photographer do their thing. I do hate I didn't get a picture of our good friends Tommy, Jeanne, & Kristen!
Karen was a beautiful bride...

I was also glad I got to spend a little time with some of my girls!

Of course I was happy that Chris was there with me:)

4. We celebrated Kay, Delight, and my birthday a few weeks back. The day started with Amy & Kay coming up. We went for a walk around Chapel Hill. I took them to this huge tire swing that is nearby!

Amy & Kay at the Forest Theater. This is such a fun place to see a play. I'd recommend the puppet show that comes here at least once a year.

Our walking adventure took us to the castle! This is a fun little walk :)

We met Delight & Maria at the mall for our B-day dinner! All around it was a great time with friends! I won't discuss our b-day dessert ;)

5. Chris & I went for a Sunday stroll on Franklin Street. It's very very rare that we are home on a Sunday afternoon. Chris & I explored and went to this cute little park area. There were so many clovers around that I couldn't resist to look for a four leaf clover! Chris thought I was crazy until I found one! He has never found one, which I thought was crazy! Too bad my wish didn't come true!

Chris being CHRIS! :) That's my husband!

PS: This is for you, Kerri! :)

Fun Filled Weekend

Chris & I both got to spend time with friends on Friday. Chris and his accountability group meet every Friday. All of the girls (Rebecca, Crystal, Lydia & Kayla) try to get together at least once a week, though this is not always an easy task! We spent some time at a little Coffee shop/cafe in Duke's Library. It's nice having good friends around here! I am very thankful that a majority of Chris' friends have wife's and fiances :) That night Chris & I went to the movies with a few from this group of people.
Saturday was another fun filled day of friends. Chris & I headed out to Matt & Kay's house, in Wilson, around 11am. I picked Kay up and we headed to our friend Justine & Wayne's house, in Grimesland. The boys headed out about an hour later to meet us there. We were having a girls day and the boys did there on thing. Of course Samuel, Justine & Wayne's cute son, hung out with both groups!

I made whoopie pies (it was from a kit Kay bought me) as our sweet treat on Saturday! Besides having a nice vegetarian lunch and eating whoopies we hung out, chatted, looked at Scrapbooks, talked about sewing ( I can't wait for my new pocketbook that Justine is making for me!), and such. Girl talk is fun :)

Samuel was so cute watching "Cars!" He doesn't look very comfortable in that first picture, but that's how he was watching the movie:) He would also curl up near mine and Kay's leg and would dig in the holes in my shoes!

The boys also had a fun filled day of searching for a sunken ship, going to game shops, and such!

The girls went down to this cute antique shop before they closed. I found some cute rustic numbers (22) for my business and a "2" stamp. They had a lot of cool stain glass windows and furniture there.

They had a lot of these figures around. There's actually a really large one behind this small one! I thought they were pretty cool, but I bet they could really freak some one out at night!

Kay, Justine & myself.
Chris & I left around 6:40 to head over to my sister-n-law and brother-n-law's house. We got to spend time with them and our sweet niece! Lee also made us delicious lasagna. I LOVED it, but Chris on the other hand did not. He doesn't eat cheese and they just forgot. I thought it was great though. Chris ordered Chinese food and all were happy! Hopefully we will get to hang out with them again sometime soon!
Good times, good weekend!

2010

We had a very nice New Year. We stayed here in Chapel Hill and invited a few friends over. It was a fairly simple evening...we just played a game and talked. We intended to watch a movie, but that never quite happen.

I made a couple of snacks for everyone. These were bacon & pineapple wraps. The sauce that you put on them taste really good!

I also made these peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies...

And lastly I made these potato wedges. These were a big hit :) We also had other snacks that our friends brought along.

We brought down to the youth room (where the party was) our glassware using one of those kitchen trays that have 3 layers of shelves. Sadly we ended up breaking about 4 plates when the night was over :( I broke one of my favorite plates! Sad!

We played Partini....which was basically a lot like Cranium, but at little more difficult.

Before our guest arrived...

I wasn't really in a big camera mood once everyone arrived, so I have no photo's of our lovely guest! I'm glad they were able to come over and celebrate the New Year with us!

Amy's Birthday Celebration

Wednesday was Amy's Birthday. To celebrate we planned to go to an outdoor ice skating rink in Raleigh. We had a very hard time locating the rink which you would have thought would have been easy to spot. We actually had to end up asking someone. Her response to our question was basically, "Ummm, it's not much, but I think it's behind Starbucks." She was correct....it was over there by Starbucks. As you can see below it wasn't much at all! It wasn't even real ice. Amy & I stood on it briefly and it felt like PLASTIC! It was disappointing, but very funny! We actually did not skate even thought it was "free" since we brought can food. It normally cost $7 and I don't think I would have paid that!!!!

We had some time to kill before Kay & Amie met us at Crabtree Mall. We were all meeting there for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Once they arrived we still had to wait for quite a bit, but we finally made it to a table.
I had a nice simple meal of bread, salad, chicken salad sandwich, & potato soup! It was a very pleasant meal. I was very sad that I wasn't able to afford a slice of red velvet cheesecake. The rest of the girls got different kinds of cheesecakes so I did a little tasting of all of theirs!

They came over and sang to Amy for her Birthday...

and then she opened a couple of gifts... :)

We always have a good time together. I have known Amy since she was six and I was five. I look forward to celbrating many more Birthday's with her!
