UNC Alumni Game

We had a great opportunity to go the the UNC Alumni game last weekend! My brother Kevin and our friends Paula and Kathy met us at the Church we live in. Before heading to the Dean Dome we enjoyed dinner together. I was excited about the game, but I had been before so I had expected it to be similar to the ones they put on in the past. The differences were this is UNC's 100th year celebration, Michael Jordan was there, the 2009 banner was dropped, they played each other instead of other former ACC players, and super star after super star where there. It was such a cool experience! You can just see how tight of a bond the new and old players have with each other. Everyone just looked some friendly and comfortable on the court. You could tell that they were all just enjoying each others company! I was most excited about seeing Michael Jordan, b/c this was my first MJ experience! When the night was over with it just felt good. I'm glad we decided to go to this game, b/c it's one of the UNC moments that I'll always remember!

Please check out the slideshow to see pictures from the game! Note, there are actually no captions for these!

UNC NCAA CHAMPS!!!

Make that two more....

I was thrilled to be apart of the BIG action down in Chapel Hill when Carolina won the NCAA Championship! I knew I had to work the next day, but I also new it was a life time chance to see some of those guys WIN a NCAA Championship. It was well worth it! I actually have a small scar in my eye to remember it by:)

UNC Seniors

Here's one before we fly out to Texas....Chris and I are trying to stay up since we have to get up around 3 anyway.

Kevin and I went with Matt and Kay to see the UNC Seniors play in Wilson a couple of months ago. Tyler was the headliner, but he was a no show. They said he was receiving a reward, I do believe, in NY. Our boy isn't so little any more....I guess he never was!

Anyway, here's a slideshow to enjoy from the game. I so wish I would have had my new and awesome 70-200 CANON lens for this!!! Note: Let slideshow load completely before you start viewing them. I've noticed if you don't let it load completely it won't let you get through slideshow.

Visit with Amanda

Amy and I went on a little weekend adventure to Lynchburg, VA in February. We wanted to visit with her sister, Amanda, and she wanted to learn how to snowboard. All I have to say is snowboarding to a very difficult sport to learn or teach! You really have to keep going a few times before it clicks how it works:) Overall we had a nice time with Amanda and all her roomie's! I've never seen so many creative girls in one space!

We got dinner and a movie the first night we were there...

Snowboarding day...

Hopefully Amy won't kill me for this one:) No worries, I've been in this position too!

Snowboarding trip to West Va

About a month ago I went on a snowboarding trip with my brother (Kevin), Kathy, and Marsha. We took a weekend trip up to Snowshoe, WV. One thing we learned on our trip is to not always trust the GPS. We discovered that she/he/it really likes the country back roads. Instead of taking highways, we ended up going through the Blue Ridge Parkway at night. We probably saw at least 8 deer. I'm sure it would have been beautiful in the day time, but it just made me feel a little woozy!

We didn't drove all the way there the first night. We stopped at a hotel that was about an hour away.

I bought a new digital camera that was very handy on this trip. I actually didn't eve use my 40D. I was very impressed with it! I will share a few pictures of the awesome camera soon:) I'm still getting use to it!

Playing around with macro on my camera...

This is the amazing scenery that we got to witness as we were driving up to the Mountain!

This was Marsha's first time snowboarding. I'm so GLAD that I am no longer in the "training" stage. Snowboarding is probably one of the most challenging sports I have ever done!

Kathy and I (and yes, I look dorky!).

It's not very often that you get a moment on the slope where no one is around. I took advantage of enjoying this moment with Kathy.

Lunch time!

Kevin and his little fo-hawk...

It was kinda weird seeing a motorcycle outside in the dead of winter...hmmmm...

Chair lefts can me freaky! I tent to like to seat o the left side of the lift, b/c when I get off I tend to automatically go to the left.

End of day one...

Marsha enjoyed some time to herself on day two, while we headed out to the slopes. It probably worked out for the best that she stayed at the hotel, b/c Kathy hurt her back and it ended up raining. Kevin and I did get a couple of runs down the slope. It started getting miserable with the rain, so we called it the day.

We went back to the hotel and ate at this little breakfast joint across the street.

On our last day we packed up and headed home. The snow was slowing beginning to melt.

This is the hotel we stayed at. This place could use a remodel, b/c it was totally 70's. We were a little disappointed that our hotel did not have a hot tub bathtub. The last time we came up we had a two bedroom and that did, but the one bedroom did not.

Overall it was a very nice trip!

UNC VS UNC-A

After Maria's bday celebration I headed up to Chris' place (yes, it was a busy 2 days!). He was out of town, so I had a little me time that night and most of Sunday. Kathy, Kevin (bro), Jeff, and I went to the UNC game that evening. We had a lot of fun! After the game we played a little ping pong at the Church, in their Youth Group room.

I had about 40ish pictures to share, so I created a slideshow:

UNC VS UNC-A

I hope you enjoy:)

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting...

You know you can't help but to sing that song when you think about Kung Fu!!! Chris recently got a new belt in Kung Fu. It was about a 6 hours test, but I'm really glad I was able to be apart of it. Chris and the rest of the group did a great job!
