Brittany & Josh

They say that everybody has a connection when you live in a small town. This seems to be a fairly true statement. Brittany & I actually had a connection that we didn't even realize at first. When I met her for the first time I thought she looked very familiar. We finally figured out that she went with my old Church to a camp called "Crossroads." I probably could dig out a few old pictures of that trip, but I know I probably wouldn't want anyone seeing the ones of me so I won't do that to Brittany :)

I really did enjoy the time I spent with Brittany through the whole process. She is just such a sweet person! When I met Josh on the day of the wedding I realized that he also seemed to be just a really nice guy.

I'd like to share with you their story of how Josh proposed to Brittany:

"Josh put my ring in the Christmas tree. We get each other ornaments each year and he told me he put an ornament for me on the tree and that I needed to find it. I had trouble finding it so he helped. I took the ring off the tree and he got on one knee."

Josh, great job on being creative! I love to hear engagement stories! Brittany & Josh, thank you for letting me Photograph your BIG DAY!

Brittany is just such a pretty girl! She looked perfect on her wedding day!

I absolutely loved her dress. The details were gorgeous!

Brittany & I are both HUGE "I Love Lucy" fans! I couldn't resist getting a shot of her slippers :)

This is one of my favorite shots of Brittany.

Brittany received an unexpected surprise from Josh before the ceremony. He bought her a nice gift & wrote her a sweet card. Moments like this is part of what your wedding day should be all about!

Josh & his boys were a few doors down from the girls. I was glad I was able to snap a few shots of Josh & the guys getting ready.

Their ceremony was very beautiful.

Meet Mr. & Mrs. Boseman!

I snapped a few shots of the boys before the Ceremony. I love outdoor shots, so I was glad we were able to take a few minutes to sneak out before it was dark!

I love this moment between Josh & his daughter Kaylie.

Kaylie's hair is just so beautiful!

I also enjoyed getting to know Brittany's mom and sister a little better through the process of Brittany's Bridal Shoot & Wedding. They are a very cute family!

Brittany & her girls.

Couple Time!

I had a lot of fun at their reception! The dancing photo's were some of my favorite, so I'm posting quite a few!

These shots were actually at the end of the night before they headed out!

Their cake was very cute! I'll have to say that Brittany has the better taste in sport teams!

I can't quit saying how much I enjoy ring shots! I have so much fun with them :)

Their car was packed full of balloons. I'm not quite sure how they squeezed in there, but they managed! Their Wedding day turned out PERFECT for them! I wish you guys the best!

New Camera Bag

My much awaited new camera bag has arrived! I bought this bag before our big car purchase, otherwise I probably wouldn't have this camera bag now! It seems to hold just what I need it to hold. There just enough room for my camera. The real test will come on Saturday when I have a wedding to shoot!

2010

We had a very nice New Year. We stayed here in Chapel Hill and invited a few friends over. It was a fairly simple evening...we just played a game and talked. We intended to watch a movie, but that never quite happen.

I made a couple of snacks for everyone. These were bacon & pineapple wraps. The sauce that you put on them taste really good!

I also made these peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies...

And lastly I made these potato wedges. These were a big hit :) We also had other snacks that our friends brought along.

We brought down to the youth room (where the party was) our glassware using one of those kitchen trays that have 3 layers of shelves. Sadly we ended up breaking about 4 plates when the night was over :( I broke one of my favorite plates! Sad!

We played Partini....which was basically a lot like Cranium, but at little more difficult.

Before our guest arrived...

I wasn't really in a big camera mood once everyone arrived, so I have no photo's of our lovely guest! I'm glad they were able to come over and celebrate the New Year with us!

Amy's Birthday Celebration

Wednesday was Amy's Birthday. To celebrate we planned to go to an outdoor ice skating rink in Raleigh. We had a very hard time locating the rink which you would have thought would have been easy to spot. We actually had to end up asking someone. Her response to our question was basically, "Ummm, it's not much, but I think it's behind Starbucks." She was correct....it was over there by Starbucks. As you can see below it wasn't much at all! It wasn't even real ice. Amy & I stood on it briefly and it felt like PLASTIC! It was disappointing, but very funny! We actually did not skate even thought it was "free" since we brought can food. It normally cost $7 and I don't think I would have paid that!!!!

We had some time to kill before Kay & Amie met us at Crabtree Mall. We were all meeting there for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Once they arrived we still had to wait for quite a bit, but we finally made it to a table.
I had a nice simple meal of bread, salad, chicken salad sandwich, & potato soup! It was a very pleasant meal. I was very sad that I wasn't able to afford a slice of red velvet cheesecake. The rest of the girls got different kinds of cheesecakes so I did a little tasting of all of theirs!

They came over and sang to Amy for her Birthday...

and then she opened a couple of gifts... :)

We always have a good time together. I have known Amy since she was six and I was five. I look forward to celbrating many more Birthday's with her!

Christmas Time Part II

After Chris & I left Mema's house we headed back to Chris' parents house.
Brodus enjoyed having so many laps to sit on, but he didn't enjoy Jess & Lee's dog, Sadie, too much! I'm sure Brodus had a hard time when we all left!

We had planned on going to a Church Service that night, but we decided to have Commune in their home instead. Once Jess & lee arrived Chris served Commune to us. It was really cool to be able to do this on Christmas Eve with our family.

That night we got to open one of our gifts. This is a tradition in the Adams' family!

Chris received so many much needed PANTS!

Christmas morning started off with breakfast...

Emma slept on my lap for a while :) This really is the life!

Chris' dad read the Christmas Story from the Bible before we opened gifts together.

We all had a lot of fun gifts in our stockings. They bought fun little books for us all!
I thought it was kind of ironic that I received this one since I tend to have bad grammar at times :) Kristi & Dr. Adams did confirm that they bought it for me because it was filled with pictures!
Memaw & Emma
Jess was not a big fan of this gift from Kristi & Ken to Emma :) It says "Born to be a Tar Heel."
We all just hung out after gift time.
They put Emma's bunny outfit on, which was so cute! She looks way cuter in her bunny outfit than the boy from "A Christmas Story."
I love the little ears and tale!
Momma (Jess) & Emma!
We shared dinner together that evening.

Chris & I headed back to Chapel Hill the next evening. We both had a wonderful time being home with our families! We are very grateful for what we have!
